About the Artist

Larry Clingman - Biography

Larry Clingman's life has always been artistically inclined. As a commercial artist for 30+ years, he worked with a long list of regional and national clients.

As a painter, he has always been challenged by the incalculable  way light affects shape, value, and color. Constantly working to learn and deepen the understanding of that beauty and artistically translate it is the utmost goal he strives for in every painting he creates. Commenting on his career in art, Clingman said, " I am humbled to have made my way as a life-long working artist. It has allowed me to meet and work with some incredibly talented people, raise my family, and continue to do what I love with all my heart and soul".

Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1950, Larry graduated from Missouri State University in 1972 with a Bachelor degree in Fine Art. He has been  honored with numerous local and regional awards and attained national recognition for his  creative work, including his invitation to exhibit in the 2015 "Collector's Reserve" art exhibition at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
